Description
The Antistreptolysin O (ASO or ASLO) test using the turbidimetric method measures the concentration of antibodies against streptolysin O, a toxin produced by Group A Streptococcus bacteria. Elevated ASO levels are indicative of a recent streptococcal infection, aiding in the diagnosis of post-streptococcal complications such as rheumatic fever and glomerulonephritis.
